Revolution Prep(ratedA+ on Comparably) is looking for teachers and tutors to join our online faculty. We look for educators who believe in the value of one-on-one instruction and personalized lesson plans and who have a strong desire to help students achieve their educational dreams.
Over the last 15 years, Revolution Prep has worked with over 1 million students to raise grades and test scores and build stronger, more confident learners. As a faculty member, you will provide individual instruction to students in grades 6-12 from all over the world through our online classroom.
Faculty members work from home and set their own schedule; they provide 35 hours of availability per week, with a goal of averaging at least 28 hours of instruction each week. Availability is set during prime tutoring hours: 3pm-9pm PST Monday through Friday, 5am-7pm PST Saturday, and 5am-9pm PST Sunday. Faculty members join a learning community of like-minded peers and participate in weekly small group meetings -- led by a peer -- to learn and share best practices.
Deliver exceptional instruction one-on-one and in small groups to students grades 6-12 on a variety of subjects including SAT and ACT exams
Create individualized lesson plans for private tutoring students using Revolution’s curricula and additional resources
Manage the schedules and goals of several students simultaneously
Submit comprehensive session and student goal updates to parents each week
Attend weekly online professional development sessions to collaborate and share best practices with other faculty members
Commit to the constant pursuit of improvement through professional development, self and peer auditing, and feedback from semi-annual reviews
Contribute to initiatives of the instruction team including development of new curriculum
Represent Revolution Prep with the highest level of professionalism at all times
Previous teaching experience and familiarity with the creation of lesson plans
Applicants with expertise in science (chemistry - HIGH need, physics, and biology up to AP level), college level micro/macroeconomics, LSAT, higher level math (alg II, trig, pre-calculus, calculus AB/BC, stats), and languages (Spanish and/or French) strongly preferred - Note that all tutors are asked to be able to teach SAT/ACT test preparation as a foundation (training provided) and can thereafter declare additional subjects in which they specialize
Ability to teach consecutive online tutoring sessions
Ability to work during peak tutoring hours during the week
Ability to work on the weekends
High-speed internet, as well as a clean, quiet, professional setting for online sessions
Ability to teach foreign languages is a plus
Bachelor’s degree from a top school required, advanced degree preferred
Ability to commit to at least one year of full-time employment

Within their first year, our tutors earn between $25 to $30 per hour (including bonuses). Our tutors are paid for every hour worked, are eligible for full benefits, and work from the comfort of their own homes. We invest in our tutors' ongoing development; each week they have the opportunity to collaborate with a highly skilled and educated learning community to share best practices.
